Trip to the beach: (rp for Archfiend-dragon, chibiarchfiend & Dragon-of-stardust)
she petted the top of the little dragon’s head before looking at the much larger one. “well i can make those pancakes but it should be saved for another morning. how do you like your eggs anyways? or your bacon for that matter?” she calmly asked before going to fetch a sippy cup filled with water for the baby. “here Roy be sure to drink something.”He walked up to the boy’s mother and reached around, grabbing the sippy cup. “Over-easy and just crunchy enough to not be mushy. One piece of toast if possible.” He said, giving her temple a little peck before moving away. “Roooy!~ I’ve got your water~” He said happily, going over to the baby on the counter.
Roy blinked and looked up from the piece of ham he had been munching on.He saw the sippy cup and his eyes little up before reaching out for it. “Papa can I have another piece of ham?”
“alright.. i’ll make that then.” she said before getting the proper cookware, bacon, eggs and bread. she paused during her cooking to look at the father son duo and couldn’t help but smile at them. this taste of family life was really nice and Stardust hoped it would never end. sure it wasn’t a perfect family life.. with her not actually being with Archfiend but those were small technicalities.. Roy didn’t seem to mind or noticed anyways. once done cooking she set the food onto a plate and handed it over to Archfiend along with utensils. “here you go~”
He chuckled at the baby and put the sippy cup down within his reach before getting another piece for the child. “Of course you can!” He said to him, smiling as he gave the boy the meat. “We want you to get big and strong!” Archfiend grinned at the boy, feeling Stardust’s gaze upon them as he did. He overlooked it but wondered what would change if they were actually a family. He liked the feeling it gave him but he was sure he’d be more content if he could call Stardust his own.
He almost sighed a little, his ears drooping slightly as he lost himself in his thoughts. Archfiend never noticed the plate she offered, his mind too caught up in where his thoughts were taking him: down roads of bliss paved with the foundation of finally admitting how he felt to Stardust… But it wasn’t like either version would want him anyway. Even if he was getting somewhere with the female version it was only temporary and he was sure that the male version wasn’t interested if he wasn’t Malefic. After all… Who would want a moron like him?
Roy took the piece of meat and started to nibble at it. He then blinked as he watched Papa’s ears droop. “Hey, Mama,Papa. How come you two never kiss each others. Arn’t Mamas and Papas supposed to do that?”
she nearly dropped her plate with her breakfast on it when the child asked that question. she quickly place the plate down on the counter and joined the other two as she nervously tried to think of a way to explain their relationship. “ummm well Roy… you see Mama and Papa aren’t really… We’re.. gnn..” she couldn’t bare to say it.. it would make the baby sad and possibly cry… she looked over to Archfiend for assistance in answering this question.
The question snapped him out of his droopy reverie. Not really seeing the clear opportunity in front of him, He just looked at Stardust before finally replying to the boy. “Mamas and Papas can’t be kissing all the time sweetie. We do have other things to do you know.”
“Oh…okay. I though maybe Mama and Papa didn’t love each other.”He said as he went back to nibbling on the meat.
th-this child.. why must he be so observant? her face became a bright shade of red as she looked to the side shyly. “well sweetie… you see mama and papa aren’t your normal brand of mama and papa… we’re just just two really close friends that decided to take care of you and love as our own. so yes, in a way Mama and Papa do love each other but just as friends…” Friends… oh yes… she did wish it was more but she was just unsure how to say it.. how to tell him how she felt… it was complicated… not to mention her fears were making it even more difficult. what if he doesn’t like her like that? it would make things awkward… what if it doesn’t turn out? will she lose the greatest friendship forge over eons over something that could have been avoided? perhaps she should go talk to Jack to see how he thinks Archfiend should be approached for this….
Archfiend made somewhat of a pained face. The boy’s words hit home and all he could do was look down. It was impressive how only a few words could be bring the mighty, boastful hybrid down to a quiet, contemplative mess. “Trust me Roy…” He said mostly to himself. “It’s not that I don’t love mama… Far from it.” He wasn’t sure if she could even hear him. Maybe if she did it would convey how he felt then and there, awkward as that could be with the kid around.
